Illustrator Tutorial: Bubbly Text

Here’s a quick way to create bubbly text in Illustrator.

Step 1: In Illustrator type a word using a chunky font such as Snow Dream (free from www.fontface.com).  Set the font size to about 60-point.

Step 2: Select the word, go to Edit > Copy, then Edit > Paste in Back (keep the text selected).

Step 3: Set the Stroke Weight to about 25 point and change the stroke colour to a lighter colour.  Set the stroke options (as shown below) for Round Cap and Round Join, this will round the edges on the stroked text.  Go to Edit > Copy, then Edit > Paste in Front (keep the text selected).

Step 4: Set the Stroke Weight to about 25 point and change the stroke white.
